STATE OF ILLINOIS Proclamation WHEREAS, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS) is a condition caused by exposure to tosic chemicals in our air, w3ater and food; and WHEREAS, MCS is a condition that can affect people of all ages and backgrounds; and WHEREAS, the health of the general population may be at risk from chemical exposures that may be minimized by reducing or avoiding chemical use in our environment when possible; THEREFORE, I, GEORGE H. Ryan, Governor of the State of Illinois, proclaim May 7-13, 2001, as MULTIPLE CHEMICAL SENSITIVITY AWARENESS WEEK in Illinois. In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and caused the Great Seal of the state of Illinois to be affixed Done at the Capitol in the City of Springfield, this Second Day of April, in the Year of Our Lord Two Thousand and one, and of the State of Illinois the one hundred and Eighty-Third. |
